Hi there!

I tried mvwm. And i geht this
[mvwm][ReadDecorFace]: <<ERROR>> couldn't load pixmap
/usr/bin/../share/fvwm-verve/themes/cooljakob/images-Left/title-activeup.xpm
The xpm-picture is there and can be viewed with display or eog. In the
original fvwm the decor is working.

So... is there no xpm-support in mvwm? Or do i have to compile it in?

I removed it, yes. Convert the file to a PNG.

Why did you remove it?

Ok, i changed it.

Is there any documentation for the differences from Fvwm to Mvwm?
mvwm is working fine here. :)

No, and thus far, aside from some cleanups and deprecations, you shouldn't
notice much difference.

There is a strange behaviour...
I have this line in my config:

Key Tab A M Windowlist

In fvwm it works.
In mvwm not. When Iceweasel is running, Alt+Tab kills mvwm. When i close
Iceweasel, this key-combination opens the windowlist... Back to fvwm
with the same config, Alt+Tab opens the windowlist in every case...

Do you have an idea?

Yes, it's fixed; I just haven't updated the master branch to reflect that

Just to know...

I download the zip from
https://github.com/ThomasAdam/mvwm/archive/master.zip
unpack it, change to the directory mvwm-master

inside i run the script
autogen.sh

after that i run
make

and as root
make install

then i find the binary in /usr/local/bin/mvwm

Post by Jakobus Schürz
Why did you remove it?
Because many different image formats to support is just code for code's
sake. The trick is determining which one is best-suited to the things fvwm
has to offer. In my mind, I may bring back SVGs, say. But XPMs and XBMs?
No, I _really_ would rather not. Converting images where necessary is
trivial to do.

SetEnv MIconSize 16x16
SetEnv AIconSize 18x18 #When Mouse Hovering over Button

*FvwmShelf: (13x2 Frame 0, Title(Side) " Dateien", Left, Icon

Then it is something really strange there... Because it works here on my
machine running mvwm...
I showed you the output of ps and the Version-output of mvwm...

Strange thing... :)

This is one of this svg-pics in the FvwmButton.
Note that svg still works with "F"vwmButtons, and FvwmButtons
should be happy to run under the "mvwm" code too, but
"M"vwmButtons does not have svg support because it's been removed
from the library. For now it should be possible to tun any of the
fvwm modules with mvwm.

Maybe that is the problem.

Ciao

I recognized this last night... but i was too tired to report it... :)

Yes it's right. I used FvwmButtons and not MvwmButtons... Changing the
config, and the Icons on the Buttons disappear... So mvwm is not
useable for me now...
Hope, Thomas will reassing svg-support soon... *friendlysmiletothomas*

When would you bring back SVG support? Because then I can test mvwm with FNS.
Could be interesting for parsing ^^
