Hello all
I want to thank again Thomas Adam for solving at once my problem on
March 2011.
I was very happy to get such a quick, simple and precise answer. See
below, (if nececessary).
(Sorry for my broken english.)

Dear all
I use fvwm(2) as window manager for my slackware 13.1, 64 bits.
But, with it, I never succeeded to run the Java dynamic geometry
software CaRMetal
http://db-maths.nuxit.net/CaRMetal/index_en.html
Only the splash window, with version number, will appear ; after this,
the software will stay waiting for a window.
But there is not such a fail neither with kde nor with windowmanager.

using that.
Does this then fix the problem for you?

Version? If it's not the latest unstable release (2.5.31) - try againusing that.
