We have displays with multiple monitors and multiple NVIDIA cards. When
Firefox displays a page with <INPUT> widgets and something is entered into
the widget, then X11 hangs or crashes. This doesn't happen if there is only
one NVIDIA card being used or if a window manager other than FVWM is used.
It also seems to be independent of the driver (NIVIDIA-supplied or elrepo,
for example). Any ideas on how to fix this?
The problem has been solved: It had nothing to do with the <INPUT> widget. The page being returned had a Unicode character (in one particular case, an EN DASH, E2-80-93) in the <TITLE> attribute. Why this should be a problem only under the specific conditions described above is a mystery to me. My solution is to set the title for all Firefox windows to "Firefox" with the TitleFormat style. An alternate solution would be to select a different Font style. But this does indicate something fragile within FVWM or X11.Firefox displays a page with <INPUT> widgets and something is entered into
