Hi all,
I'm curious about who uses FVWM. Whilst in the past there's been projects
such as frappr to see who's out there, I thought it would be a better
low-tech and more personal approach to suggest a postcard swap.
For every postcard sent to me, I'm willing to send one back, and I'll
personally map where you are, and will publish such a map with nothing more
than the city/country you're in, and put it on fvwm.org -- I won't include a
name, etc. But if more than one person contacts me in the same city, I'll
keep a running total of people in that area. No personal details will ever
make it on to such a map, I promise. Obviously though, in order for me to
send you a postcard if you so wish it, I'll need an address. :) I promise
I'll comply with Data Privacy Laws.
I've used GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) for a while, and I thought putting
that in to practice with an idea such as this makes sense -- plus it's a way
for you to say "hello" and for me to respond likewise -- although I can't
guarantee an exciting postcard in response, but I'll at least try. :)
I'm not that naive as to put my address here, so if anyone wishes to start,
send me a message off-list (***@fvwm.org) and I'll get back to you.
Oh -- and as a bonus, anyone who does reply, a teddy bear postcard gets
extra points. :)
Who'll be first? :)
